Rosalía, the 33-year-old Spanish singer-songwriter known for her genre-blending hits like "Despechá," was forced to abruptly end her concert at the Unipol Forum in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday, March 25, after suffering a severe bout of food poisoning. The sold-out performance, part of her ongoing Lux Tour, was structured in four acts, but Rosalía completed only the first two before halting the show around 22:00 local time amid visible distress.

Returning to the stage after a brief absence, Rosalía addressed the 11,000 fans directly, explaining her condition in a candid on-stage statement captured in fan footage on social media. "I tried to do this show since the very beginning I’ve been sick," she said. "I’ve had, big-time food poisoning... and I tried to push it until the end, but I’m feeling extremely sick… I’m puking out there… I really want to give the best show, and I’m like on the floor trying my best." She added, "I may try to continue, but at some point, I might have to stop. I’m extremely sick, and I’m really trying, I’ll push on as much as I can, but if we have to stop, we might have to stop if I really physically, I can’t keep going. I’m in pain." Shortly after, she conceded, "I’ve tried by all means to continue the show until the end, but I’m really unwell, and I can’t do it," before apologizing specifically to her Italian audience: "I'm so sorry, Milan, because I wanted the show to go all the way to the end."

The Milan show marked Rosalía's only Italian stop on the Lux Tour, leaving fans disappointed but supportive, with applause accompanying her exit. No immediate health update followed the incident, and it remained unclear if a rescheduled performance would occur in Italy. However, days later, on March 30, Rosalía took the stage at Madrid's Movistar Arena for the next leg of her tour, signaling her recovery.

During the Madrid performance, she reassured the crowd, stating, "I'm much better now." This update came just five days after the Milan disruption, highlighting her resilience amid a demanding tour schedule that includes multiple nights in Madrid.

Rosalía, a global icon whose music fuses flamenco, reggaeton, and pop, has built a devoted fanbase that spans diverse communities, including significant support within LGBTQ+ circles for her boundary-pushing artistry and inclusive stage presence. While no specific LGBTQ+ community responses to this incident were documented in coverage, her fanbase's outpouring of support on social media during the Milan event reflected the artist's broad appeal. The episode underscores the physical toll of high-stakes touring for performers, yet Rosalía's swift return demonstrates professional commitment. As of March 31, no further updates on her health or tour adjustments have been issued. The Lux Tour continues, with fans monitoring her performances closely.

There are some things you might expect, even count on, in a Super Mario Galaxy movie. The introduction of the celestial Princess Rosalina? Check. A scene of her reading bedtime stories to her adorable, glowing star children Lumas? Check. A wild revenge scenario that takes Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toad away from the Mushroom Kingdom and into space, where intergalactic travel requires little more than a well-placed launch star that will hurtle anyone safely through cosmos and into the cozy, self-contained gravitational pulls of nearby planets? This one might depend on how familiar you are with the game itself, first released in 2007, but let’s say check anyway.
