In a lighthearted moment that has quickly circulated across social media platforms, actor Tom Holland found himself in the "hot seat" during a recent promotional stop for his latest film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. During an interview with Australia’s Pedestrian.TV, Holland, alongside co-star Jacob Batalon and Zendaya, participated in a lyric-guessing game hosted by Entertainment Editor Lachlan Guertin.

When the group was asked to finish the lyrics to what was described as "one of the most iconic songs of all time," the interviewer recited the lines: "Don't stop. Don't move. Just keep it there. Keep it right there." Holland, who appeared genuinely stumped, looked at the interviewer and admitted, "Oh. I don't know this one. I have no idea." The realization was immediate as Zendaya, sitting beside him, dryly responded, "That's my song, guys."

The lyrics in question belong to Zendaya’s 2013 platinum-certified debut single, "Replay," a pop track that launched her music career over a decade ago. Fans on platforms like Reddit and TikTok were quick to joke about the playful "boyfriend fail," with Zendaya teasing him in the clip by saying, "You think you know someone."

Collaborative Creativity on Set

The chemistry between the leads extends beyond the red carpet and into the production of the film. Holland recently shared an anecdote on the Rich Roll podcast, detailing how he and Zendaya advocated for a rewrite of a specific scene they felt "wasn’t resonating" during production. According to Holland, after filming several takes, he and Zendaya approached director Destin Daniel Cretton to express that they weren't feeling the emotional beats of the script.

Cretton reportedly halted production for the day to allow the cast to revise the sequence. Holland recalled that the director told the crew they could leave so they could sit down and properly rewrite the scene, adding that he was thrilled with the final version seen in the film. This level of creative involvement highlights the maturity of the actors as they navigate a new chapter for their characters, Peter Parker and MJ.

Historical Musical Highlights

The "Replay" lyric failure is a humorous departure from the couple’s previous musical interactions, which have often been celebrated by fans for their enthusiasm. In 2023, the pair went viral for a video showing them passionately singing along to Beyoncé’s "Love on Top" during a Renaissance World Tour stop in Warsaw, Poland.

Holland’s most famous musical moment, however, remains his 2017 Lip Sync Battle performance of Rihanna’s "Umbrella." Holland has noted that he and Zendaya had a brief conversation before that fateful performance where they joked about keeping their acts relaxed—a promise Holland famously broke with his elaborate, high-energy routine, much to Zendaya’s visible shock at the time.

Anticipation for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"

As the press circuit continues, industry analysts expect Spider-Man: Brand New Day to be a major box-office success. The film focuses on Peter Parker’s life in a world where no one remembers his true identity, exploring a more personal story as he returns to his roots in New York City. The film arrives in theaters globally on Friday, July 31, 2026.
