From Peacock Development to Paramount+ Greenlight

The project was first reported as being developed for Peacock in 2025, with Silverstone attached to star as Cher and executive-produce.

That Peacock version was no longer moving forward by April 2026, according to Deadline.

The project was subsequently taken back to the market, and Paramount+ became its new home.

The revival therefore continues the story of the film rather than being the earlier reported project centered on another character.

The original Clueless was released in 1995 and followed Cher during her high-school years in Beverly Hills.

The announced sequel shifts the character from teenager to parent while retaining Cher as the story’s central figure.

For now, Paramount+ has released only the broad premise and production framework; further information about the daughter, supporting cast, episode stories, and launch date remains unannounced.
