Walsh made the comments in a personalized video recorded for a fan through Cameo, a platform that allows users to request messages from actors and other public figures. In the video, Walsh said he was preparing to return to Canada to film additional episodes of Heated Rivalry.

“Getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes… so, I think we’re doing 12 this time,” Walsh said in the clip.

Walsh later paused his Cameo account. A message displayed on his profile said, “Stepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble.”

“I wasn’t asking for a sip of water,” Ortega said in an Esquire interview published Aug. 11. “I would go all day without eating, drinking, whatever, because I wanted so badly to not be in the way of anybody.”

O’Donnell made the comments during the Aug. 11 episode of Good Hang With Amy Poehler, a podcast hosted by comedian and actor Amy Poehler.

Asked about the experience, O’Donnell characterized the scene as “horrifying” and immediately added, “I was so nervous.”

The sequence was not a depiction of the characters having sex on camera, but a postcoital scene set after the characters’ sexual encounter.
